What’s the difference between a CO and a 02?

Currently, both CO and 02 are IAIABC Claim EDI Maintenance Type Codes. The CO is a transaction sent by a claim administrator to the state in response to a TE ¾ a transaction accepted with error(s) ¾ initiated by the state. A 02 is a transaction initiated by a claim administrator and sent to the state to report a change to data element(s) previously reported. But there has been talk about modifying the existing 02 change process, so stay tuned.
