Child Support Lien Network adds North Dakota, Washington
In August, North Dakota and Washington joined the Child Support Lien Network (CSLN). Those states are additions to the ISO ClaimSearch® Child Support Enforcement Agency (CSEA) program.
If your company participates in the ISO CSEA/CSLN program — and you add those two states or are an all-states participant — the system will automatically check claimant names against the CSLN database.
If the system finds a match, CSLN will notify the appropriate child support enforcement agency. The agency may place a lien on the proceeds of any collectible settlement by the claimant.
ISO ClaimSearch participants, insurers, self-insurers, and third-party administrators can participate in the program at no charge.
Although participation is voluntary in most states, ISO CSEA/CSLN participation satisfies the mandatory statutory reporting requirement in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island. Beginning November 1, 2007, participation will satisfy the requirement in Oklahoma.
If you’re interested in participating in the ISO ClaimSearch CSEA/CSLN program — or in expanding the states in which your company participates — you can e-mail us or call 1-800-888-4476 (option 2, option 2).
