Rong Yi is a senior scientist at Verisk Health. She brings to the organization her strong applied analytical and quantitative skills in economics and finance. Dr. Yi leads and participates in ongoing research and development of the DxCG Diagnostic Cost Group (DCG) and RxGroups® predictive models. She has consulted with numerous clients on Verisk Health’s DxCG predictive modeling methodologies for various business applications, including actuarial and underwriting, risk-adjusted episodes for profiling, and risk-adjusted performance targets. Currently, Dr. Yi is the lead scientist on predictive models for workers compensation. She works on research and development for Medicaid models for budgeting, high-cost identification, and medical management.
Before joining Verisk Health in 2001, Dr. Yi was a research assistant and fellow at Boston University, where she participated in a number of research projects in health economics, industrial organization, and economic development. She was also an instructor at the School of Management and the College of Arts and Sciences at Boston University. She received her Ph.D. in economics from Boston University and her B.S. degree from Peking University, Beijing, China.
