Arlene Ash cofounded DxCG, a unit of Verisk Health, where she continues as senior scientist. She also serves as a research professor at
Boston
University
's Schools of Medicine (Division of General Internal Medicine) and Public Health (Department of Biostatistics).
Dr. Ash is an internationally recognized expert in the development and use of risk-adjustment methodologies and an experienced user of national research databases, especially for Medicare. Medicare has adapted her Diagnostic Cost Group models for use in HMO payment.
Dr. Ash is a Fellow of AcademyHealth and of the American Statistical Association, a recent Past Chair of ASA’s Health Policy Statistics Section, and a winner of the American Public Health Association Statistics Section’s 2003 outstanding statistician in industry award.
She holds a Ph.D. in mathematics and statistics from the
University
of
Illinois
, an M.S. from Washington University, and a B.A. from Harvard University.
