Xactimate®, from ISO’s sister company Xactware, is a software system for estimating the cost of repairs and reconstruction for residential and commercial structures.

Here’s how it works

With Xactimate, you can quickly and easily sketch:

• floor plans
• roof layouts
• decks, stairs, and other home features

To specify materials and other line items, just select from the price list, then drag and drop onto the plan.

From your sketch, Xactimate automatically calculates material and labor quantities for construction of walls, floors, footings, and roofs. Estimating an entire wall-framing plan — including top plates, headers, wall channels, trimmers, and the like — takes one click.

Estimating flooring materials is just as easy. With a few clicks, you can specify multiple types of flooring, even in the same room. Xactimate automatically calculates and displays suggested roll directions and seam locations — and you can change those specifications to meet your needs.

With Xactimate, you can estimate in the office on a desktop computer — or in the field using a laptop or a pen-based system. 

Accurate, comprehensive pricing data
Xactimate gives you access to the most accurate and up-to-date pricing databases available in the United States and Canada. Xactware publishes structural repair and cleaning price lists for 460 separate economic areas and releases updates at least once per quarter.

Each structural repair and cleaning database contains more than 10,000 unit-cost line items. For each line item, Xactimate provides:

• labor costs
• labor productivity rates (for new construction and restoration)
• labor burden and overhead
• material costs
• equipment costs

The costs reflect the unique challenges of insurance repair, with unit costs for such tasks as mold remediation, water extraction, hazardous cleanup, and much more.

Insurance companies using Xactware’s products handle at least one out of every two property claims in the United States and Canada. More than 80 percent of insurance repair contractors and service providers with computerized estimating systems use Xactware pricing data.
