ISO Claims Outcome Advisor® for Workers Comp
ISO Claims Outcome Advisor® — or COA™
— gives you the information you need to track and direct workers compensation cases. COA helps you:
- evaluate the medical and occupational situation of each claimant
- maintain consistency and quality in claims handling
- communicate effectively with employers, medical providers, and injured employees
- develop the optimal return-to-work (RTW) plan
Comprehensive occupational information
COA comes preloaded with comprehensive information from the U.S. Department of Labor's Dictionary of Occupational Titles (DOT). COA assigns each occupation to a required-strength category, based on the occupation's activities.
COA also lets you construct a more detailed job bank for a particular employer. Using the occupational databases, you can collect details about the employer, its job sites, and individual occupations available at each site. You can also store the tasks and activities that each occupation requires.
Using detailed information from either the DOT or the job bank, COA produces return-to-work plans covering a wide range of circumstances, including:
- full return to the preinjury occupation
- graduated return to the preinjury occupation
- return to an alternative occupation consistent with the individual's capacity
With its detailed information about tasks and activities, COA can help in constructing new alternative occupations to match an individual's abilities. By considering a wide variety of possible occupations, COA helps overcome the barriers to returning to work on modified duty.
Documents to facilitate communication
ISO Claims Outcome Advisor produces documents that facilitate communication among the claims handler, the employer, the employee, and medical professionals. By providing detailed, objective information to all parties, COA helps settle disagreements and eliminate confusion. And by keeping each injured employee informed about his or her RTW plans, COA helps foster cooperation and speed the employee
back to work.
Specific action plans and effective back-to-work strategies
COA develops specific action plans that help the claims handler manage each case. You get the most effective return-to-work strategies. COA also keeps track of claim histories, including comprehensive medical and occupational information for every stage of the process.
