When you need to evaluate the risk of wildfire for a specific location, juggling paper maps just isn't accurate enough. And site inspections are costly.

LOCATION® can help. For any address in the wildfire-prone areas of nine western states, LOCATION Wildfire Services give you information on the critical risk factors — fuel, slope, and access. For California, Wildfire Services tell you whether the property is in a designated brushfire zone.

LOCATION Wildfire Services use ISO's FireLineTM data sets — a combination of high-resolution satellite imagery, digital elevation models, and street databases — to assess key determinants of wildfire damage. LOCATION Wildfire Services can help you:

• pinpoint brushfire zones
• assess and manage your exposure to wildfire risk
• develop appropriate risk-management strategies
• develop more effective fuel-reduction programs
• improve fire-mitigation and education programs
• focus mitigation resources where they can do the most good

Two comprehensive services
LOCATION Wildfire Services consist of two components that will help you mitigate your wildfire risk:

• California Brush Fire Service
  LOCATION tells you whether a risk address is in a designated California brushfire zone. The system provides the name of the hazardous brush area and the identifier code. That information lets you quickly and easily determine your brushfire exposure and eligibility for California FAIR Plan credits.
• FireLine
  State-of-the-art FireLine technology gives you detailed, up-to-date information on the wildfire risk factors, as well as an overall hazard rating for the property.

FireLine is now available in:

• Arizona
• California
• Colorado
• Idaho
• Nevada

• New Mexico
• Oregon
• Utah
• Washington

Through LOCATION, FireLine returns for each property:

• information about individual risk factors
• overall wildfire hazard score, calculated using ISO’s FireRing™ model, which considers fuel conditions within a quarter mile of the risk

You can use that information to determine wildfire exposures in surrounding areas and allocate loss-mitigation resources.

You can also use FireLine to develop overall wildfire hazard ratings for your entire book of business. You'll gain a better understanding of your exposure, and you'll be able to perform concentration analyses.

LOCATION Wildfire Services come to you as flat-file databases in convenient tab-delimited format. The services are available online or on quarterly CDs.
