The LOCATION® Analyst system consists of three components.
1. Input your books of business
You can provide your policy and claims data to ISO in several ways.
Coverage VerifierSM
For policy data, if you participate in ISO's Coverage VerifierSM database, LOCATION Analyst can access your policies in force and
automatically create your books of business. If you don't participate,
you can transmit your policy data directly to our secure servers.
A-PLUS™ For claims data, if you participate in ISO's
Automobile-Property Loss Underwriting Service (A-PLUS™), LOCATION
Analyst can access your auto and property claims and automatically
create a database of claims. If you don't participate, you can transmit
your claims data directly to our secure servers.
Other data formats
Worried about information system and integration costs? ISO has
designed the LOCATION Analyst input mechanism to be compatible with
other input formats. For example, LOCATION Analyst can accept AIR
Worldwide's UNICEDE® data-exchange format. UNICEDE is used in certain AIR applications, such as CLASIC/2™ and CATStation®, that assess natural catastrophe risk. Contact ISO with any questions about using your data with LOCATION Analyst.
2. ISO creates and maintains your unique geodatabases
A geodatabase is a central data repository for spatial-data storage and
management. LOCATION Analyst fully maintains your geodatabases and
portfolio. The system standardizes and geocodes addresses and appends
licensed LOCATION risk data that you specify (or customer-provided
data) to your book of business.
ISO uses a multitiered approach to map your policies accurately,
using the best geocoding practices to ensure precise placement of your
insured properties:
parcel-level geocoding — with rooftop accuracy — to locate the actual physical building or property parcel
street-level geocoding
ZIP Code placement
The result: a book of business enriched with data that isn't available anywhere else.
LOCATION Analyst also provides monthly summaries of your book of
business (to the ZIP Code level). The summaries let you track how your
portfolio is changing. You get information on premiums, Coverage A
amounts, the number of policies added and dropped, and risk data such
as crime, wildfire, PPC™, earthquake, and hurricane. Summaries are also
available for property and auto with detailed claims information.
3. Use LOCATION Analyst to explore and analyze your portfolio and open a world of possibilities
Using the LOCATION Analyst interface, you interact with your
book-of-business data and other layers. You're now ready to realize the
full power of LOCATION Analyst.
The power to visualize, manage, and analyze your data. The power to
create dynamic maps. The power to perform analytical reporting. The
power to make profitable business decisions. The power to measure,
manage, and reduce risk.
