Make all the benefits of ISO ClaimSearch available to all your claims professionals
ISO ClaimSearch® - the information system for claims professionals - answers your need for a single all-claims database. And now, ISO is introducing the ISO ClaimSearch Universal Format, a new specification for electronically reporting claims information and receiving search results. When your company reports claims to ISO using the Universal Format, you'll make all the benefits of ISO ClaimSearch available to all your claims professionals.
Up to now, you've used separate reporting formats to submit claims information to the casualty (injury), property, and auto segments of the ISO ClaimSearch database. In return, you got reports in a different format for each segment.
With the Universal Format, you can report more thorough claims information. You'll be able to report more data elements, more claimants, more coverages, and new lines of business. And you'll have a single point of entry for multiline claims.
When you use the Universal Format, all the ISO ClaimSearch search-result reports you get back will present information in a single, easy-to-read format. You can choose to receive consistent, integrated reports across lines of insurance, so your staff can more easily and reliably spot potential fraud.
How you can implement the Universal Format
ISO ClaimSearch is now accepting reports using the Universal Format. To implement the Universal Format in your company, your information technology staff will need to make significant systems changes. If you're an ISO ClaimSearch participant, you can get a copy of the Universal Format Manual through the ISO ClaimSearch website. Or send an e-mail message to
