NMVTIS Compliance Reporting for Salvage Pools and Tow Yards

Effective March 31, 2009, the Department of Justice final National Motor Vehicle Title Insurance System (NMVTIS) rule requires all salvage pools and yards including tow yards; junk yards, recyclers, and shredders; and insurers to report salvage automobiles to NMVTIS. For salvage companies, the rule requires reporting within 30 days of receipt of the automobile in inventory and again at disposition of the salvage.

ISO ClaimSearch is a data consolidator, appointed by the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administration (AAMVA). ISO ClaimSearch is authorized to report salvage for salvage pools to NMVTIS.

Pricing: An annual $25 administrative fee, plus a transaction fee of $.40 for each VIN record you submit for reporting to NMVTIS

To participate in the ISO ClaimSearch NMVTIS Reporting Service, salvage pools must transmit data in special record layouts to ISO ClaimSearch through FTP (file transfer protocol) as required by NMVTIS.
