Letter from the Editor
The 2010 IFM Conference took place in March, and we’ve already begun to plan for 2011. Our recent conference in Las Vegas featured a great lineup of speakers, including nationally recognized experts offering innovative fraud-resistance tactics and strategies. The conference included thought-provoking sessions about where our economy is headed, how the industry deals with medical providers, and future directions of the SIU community from the perspective of senior claims management.
The presentations and discussions at IFM 2010 have inspired your Conference Planning Committee to explore and develop many of those topics for 2011.
The SIU function seems to be entering a new phase. We’re seeking a path to improve service and increase big-picture productivity. The March discussion forums also revealed several challenges, including how to reshape the SIU mission through innovation and imagination.
The SIU community cannot stand still. With that in mind, we hope the 2011 IFM Conference will help SIU managers discuss ways they can progress from tactical response to strategic planning. Doing so can help our community remain effective with both present and future corporate realities, and it will place our industry in a better position to take on emerging fraud issues.
As the agenda begins to take shape and the vibrant expo fills out, I will keep you informed.
