Legacy reporting ends December 31, 2011, for system-to-system and paper
ISO ClaimSearch® will discontinue support for all legacy reporting on December 31, 2011. If your company reports claims in legacy format by system-to-system transmission or paper submissions, you should begin planning to switch to Universal Format. (Online web legacy reporting ended on December 31, 2009.)
Universal Format reporting offers many benefits over legacy format reporting, including:
- cross-line searches
- additional optional fields of information in each claim
- enhanced match reports, containing broader information than is available in reports in legacy formats
- all data fields required for compliance with several states’ suspect or fraudulent claim or other mandated reporting requirements
- expanded data fields required for compliance reporting services, such as the ISO ClaimSearch Medicare Secondary Payer Reporting Service and the ISO ClaimSearch NMVTIS Compliance Reporting Service
