ISO Action on Data Reporting and Requirements
ISO strives to minimize the impact of government data requirements and decrease insurer time, effort, and expense associated with reporting. Whenever possible, ISO uses its database to respond on behalf of reporting insurers when the detail and timing required in a data call is consistent with ISO statistical plan reporting requirements.
In January, ISO released the latest edition of its annual government newsletter, "ISO Action on Data Requirements and Reporting," summarizing ISO's activities in 2011 in response to government requirements. The publication also reported on other data requirements and reporting initiatives during the year. Since then, ISO has completed other initiatives and is involved in several upcoming actions. The following provides an up-to-date summary:
Recent Actions
- ISO provided the North Carolina Insurance Department with second quarter 2011 personal auto trend data.
- ISO provided Pennsylvania Insurance Department with personal and commercial automobile first-party benefits data for the Department's use in its report to the state legislature.
- ISO provided the Illinois Insurance Department with the annual submission of cost-containment data on behalf of companies that use the optional ISO report service.
Upcoming Actions
- ISO will provide statistical filings to state insurance departments for almost all lines of business. In addition, ISO will provide our portion of the data needed to complete the state of Washington consolidated stat filing, which combines data from all of the statistical agents
- ISO will provide the Wisconsin Office of the Commissioner of Insurance with the annual Commercial Liability Insurance report.
- ISO will provide the North Carolina Insurance Department with third quarter 2011 personal auto trend data.
- ISO will provide the NAIC with data for the annual "NAIC State Average Expenditures and Premiums for Personal Automobile Insurance Report" and the annual "NAIC Automobile Insurance Database Report".
- ISO will provide the New Jersey Insurance Department with a compilation of New Jersey Homeowners and Dwelling exposure and loss information by Zip code for calendar year 2010.
- ISO will provide the Georgia Insurance Department the annual GID-44 and GID-45 aggregate insurer premium and loss data compilations.
- ISO will provide the Massachusetts Insurance Department with compilations to satisfy Part I and Part II of the Annual Home Insurance Data call.
- ISO will provide the NAIC with data for the annual NAIC Homeowners Insurance Market Share Report.
- ISO is working with other statistical agents to prepare consolidated compilations for MPL close-claim type reports.
